Savannah- Part 2

Friday we went to pick up our race packets.  We took a ferry. :)  The expo was fun.  

The sign is hard to read.  Savannah is home to the Girl Scout Headquarters.  Savannah is an awesome place to visit.  I hope to go back again at some point.  I know there was a lot more to see!!!  

We stopped at the Moms Run This Town tent after the race.  I was in serious pain at this point. Both my stomach and my legs were in bad shape.  I was pretty much a hot mess after the race.  BUT, I made it.  I didn't reach the goal I set for myself.  I missed it by 4 minutes.  Oh well, I have 2 MORE chances in the next few months.  Yes, I signed up for 2 more.  I'm crazy, I know! :) 

That night we went to eat at Paula Deen's restaurant.  It was just ok.  We all got the buffet, except for Eric.  To me it was just like any other buffet.  I may have enjoyed it more if I wouldn't have had some sort of stomach bug. :(

Savannah- Part 1

We went to Savannah to run in the Rock-and-Roll Marathon.  We got into Savannah on Thursday afternoon and did a little sight seeing.  The first place we went was Fort Pulaski National Monument.

Fort Pulaski National Monument is located between Savannah and Tybee Island, Georgia. It preserves Fort Pulaski, where in 1862 during the American Civil War, the Union Army successfully tested a rifled cannon, the success of which rendered brick fortifications obsolete. The fort was also used as a prisoner-of-war camp. 

We headed to Tybee Island next.  I bet this little beach town is super busy and fun during the warm seasons. It pretty much was a ghost town while we were there.  We were too late to go into the light house.  Darn!!  It was neat looking on the outside. :)

Pumpkin Pickin' and Halloween

We went to the fire station to pick out our pumpkin this year.  The local stations sell them as a fundraiser.  We went just a few days before Halloween, so we didn't have a great selection to choose from.

Brady was looking for the perfect pumpkin. 

I can't believe I actually got a picture of Carson with his hat on and standing still.  He was SO cute while trick-or-treating.  He couldn't say "trick or treat", but he could say thank you and buh-bye.  The ladies were loving him.  One lady blew him a kiss and one lady (a stranger) told him that she loved him. :)

Owen was a white ninja and Brady was a Power Ranger.  Owen loved trick-or-treating.  Brady would have, but he wasn't feeling well. :(

Atlanta Buddy Walk

Geesh, it's been awhile.  I feel like this was taken so long ago.  We packed up the whole family and went to Atlanta on a Sunday afternoon.  We participated in the Buddy Walk.  This is a picture of my super sweet friend, Amy.  She is the amazing mom to Brooks and Kellan.  Kellan has down syndrome and is the happiest, cutest, lil chunky monkey you've ever seen.  Love him...and the whole Bartlett family! :)

Don't be surprised to see this picture as our Christmas card. :)  We have so few good pictures of the whole family.

Gender Reveal

I was honored when my friends asked me to take pictures of their gender reveal.  She had her ultrasound and the doctor put a picture with the gender in the envelope.  She gave me the envelope and I took it to get the balloons.  It was very touching watching them open up the box and finding out the gender of their baby.  Here are a few of my favorites......

Owen's 6th Birthday!

Owen is SIX!!  I was going through some boxes of clothes the other day and found some "just born" size onesies.  He was so itty bitty.  He wore that size for a month.  Look how big he is now!

One of his birthday presents was a set of golf clubs.  Eric was bringing them out of the house and Owen noticed them.  Could his smile be any bigger???

Here is the "just born" onesie!  So tiny!!  I saved it! :)

Completely unrelated to Owen's birthday...This spider has been chilling by our deck for a week.  It's both creepy and kind of cool.  Cool only because it is Hawkeye colors!  Well, and the spider web looks like a zipper.

Fire Station Birthday Party

We went to a birthday party this weekend at the fire station. So much fun!!  They gave us a tour, let the kids   sit in the driver's seat, and showed us all the special tools they use.  Carson was SO into it.  As you can tell from the pictures below, he got right in the group with the big kids.  He REFUSED to put on a fire hat though! :(  I really wanted a picture of him wearing one. no such luck!  Wait, he did put it on at one point and as soon as I took the lens cap off he pulled the hat off. He totally did that on purpose!!  He knew I wanted to get a picture.

The fire man asked the kids to sit on a line and Carson even did that!

He wasn't scared at all!  The kids all gave the fire man a hug.  Carson didn't give him a hug, but he did go up to the back of him and hit his oxygen tank.  Not to be mean, he was just copying what the fire chief did when he was telling the kids about it.

Messes 

We normally have a blanket covering Barkley's crate.  We have a few things sitting on top.  I ran some errands in the morning and came home to this....Barkley had some how gotten a hold of a black bag that had a few items in it.  Of course everything in the bag was destroyed.  I'm not really sure how he got a hold of the bag, because I can see the blanket in the picture.  Who knows!?

And this mess was courtesy of my little Carson baby.  Brand new pack of 300 count napkins on the floor and a bag of pasta.  Lovely!  The good thing is, if you read my older post, Carson likes to help clean-up! Woo hoo!

All About Carson

Carson hates Zhu Zhu Pets....with a passion!!  For some reason he is so scared of them.  The boys think it's funny to chase him with them.  Carson moves FAST.  He's not to the point of running, but if the boys keep chasing him with the little critters he might be soon!!  This one was getting a little too close for comfort.

Carson is such a little helper.  He finds objects on the floor and will go throw them away without us even asking.  He dripped some milk on the floor and I told him to go get a towel and clean it up and HE DID!!  I was shocked!  Hopefully he stays this way for awhile.  

Another one of his favorite things to do.....standing up in his high chair.  I took this picture because you can see his little black eye.  He hit it on a table at church.
